Resulting from Human papillomavirus (HPV), the appearance can vary with the location and stage of the virus. Small and light-colored at first, it can grow to be fleshy and raised above the normal skin in a cauliflower appearance. They can occur singly, in groups, or multiple areas anywhere in the genital area. A genital wart is caused by HPV and differs greatly from a facial wart or plantar wart.
